Christmas Sled - Christmas Candle RM120

I completed this a few minutes ago. I purchased the pine wood sled from Artfriend some months ago. I gave the background a stain by mixing glaze with some Burnt Umber and Vermillion so that the sled would have a warm tone of brown with a natural wood grain showing through. For the baubles, I used the Impasto technique where I mixed a little thickening medium into the paint to create texture and interest by playing around with the colours for each bauble. A little of Shirley Wilsn's influence can be seen in this design while I came up with the rest of the design on my own. Another fun piece!!!
